The International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Science (I-AQUAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, together with the Pahang State Fisheries Department (DOF PAHANG) has organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony between Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Serandu Aquaponic System Sdn. Bhd. (SAS) which has been held successfully in Serandu, Pekan, Pahang. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony was witnessed by YB. Dato' Sri Ir. Haji Mohd. Soffi bin Tan Sri Abd. Razak, Pahang State EXCO of Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Biotechnology and Education.

The ceremony was attended by YBhg. Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan bin Sulaiman, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia; YH. Dato' Haji Azahari bin Haji Othman, Senior Director of the Aquaculture Division of the Putrajaya Fisheries Headquarters representing the Director General of Fisheries Malaysia; YH. Dato' Zaliza bin Zulkipli, Pekan District Officer; YH. Dato' Mohd Azmi bin Mohd Amin, Chairman of Aquaponic System Sdn. Bhd. (SAS); YBrs. Mr. Abdullah bin Jaafar, Pahang State Fisheries Director; YBhg. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Zaharin bin Aris, Director of the International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (I-AQUAS); Heads of Departments/Agencies under the State Government & MAFS, UPM lecturers/officers, Pahang DOF officers/staff and Aquaponic System Company Sdn. Bhd. (SAS). This MoU was forged through UPM's International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (I-AQUAS) which to carry out a project with SAS to further empower the aquaculture industry and increase the development and research of this industry in Pahang.
