26 September 2023, I-AQUAS - EKSA's visit and gotong royong program which aims to increase awareness about Aquaculture management and conductive workplace has been successfully held at I-AQUAS. The program involved I-AQUAS staff as well as 11 participants from Queensland University of Technology.
The program began with a lighting session given to the participants inside the Hatcheri boardroom. After that, participants were taken to the Hatchery for a brief introduction to oyster culture, marine coral studies, and the importance of seals in the marine ecosystem.
In addition, participants were also given the opportunity to understand how the overall management of the Hatchery is carried out. After finishing with the visit session, the program continued with gotong royong activities. Participants and I-AQUAS staff joined hands in cleaning the Hatchery area. This included tank cleaning and water treatment to ensure the clean water source in the area can be properly maintained.
