Port Dickson, 6 October 2023 - The International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Science (I-AQUAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, has organized an exercise titled "GIS & RS Training for Emergency Response and Planning" on 6 to 7 October 2023. The two-day exercise aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and proficiency in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) in the context of emergency response. A key topic in the exercise is the mastery of GIS tools and techniques, which gives participants the opportunity to understand how to use GIS technology to collect, analyze, and correlate geographic data that is important in emergency situations. In addition, participants were also taught to apply GIS in anxiety scenarios, allowing them to design and strategize more effective responses.
