FEB: I-AQUAS toward Food Security: Blue Swimming Crablet Release

KOTA TINGGI, January 20 - The Sedili MADANI Community Carnival, Kota Tinggi was launched by the Minister of Defense and Kota Tinggi Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin. The carnival was organized by Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and various private and government agencies.

Representatives from the Institute of International and Aquatic Sciences (I-AQUAS UPM), Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, Dato' Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, and Director of I-AQUAS, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Zaharin Aris, released the seeds of the Renjong crab together with YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin. This was an initiative to sustain the fisheries resources and ensure the food security of the country.

UPM's involvement in this carnival was part of its main effort to ensure the sustainability of food sources in the future and the conservation of the fisheries ecosystem at its best.
