October 16, 2023 -I-AQUAS, Port Dickson, Professor Dr. Martina Maria Keitsch from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) visited the International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Science (I-AQUAS) with the aim of conducting joint conversations in the potential development of products from marine resources. This scientific visit helps strengthen the cooperation between NTNU and I-AQUAS in the development of sustainable marine resources.

During her visit, Prof. Dr. Martina Maria Keitsch and her researchers showed interest in the potential use of seaweed for various applications, including food, cosmetic products and green sustainability.

During the visit, the visitors had the opportunity to see first-hand the cultivation of seaweed in the I-AQUAS hatchery. They were given a detailed explanation of the culturing techniques used and the optimal culture conditions.

Hopefully, this visit will be a starting point for cooperation between NTNU and I-AQUAS in exploring the potential of sea squirts as a valuable natural resource in an effort to support capability and innovation in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
