The International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Science (I-AQUAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, has received a visit from the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (FDAM) of Melaka together with the National Fishermen's Association (NEKMAT) Jasin, Melaka.

This visit was led by the Director of FDAM Melaka, YBrs. Mr. Adib Syazwan Mohammad Hassan and his two senior officers. Also present together were the Manager of NEKMAT Jasin Melaka, YBrs En Hamdan Othman and three members from the association.

The purpose of this visit is to discuss future collaboration in helping NEKMAT in Jasin increase aquaculture production to meet local and also outside demand.

Apart from that, among the topics of discussion is more specific to the method of spawning lobsters and crabs. Next, as a result of the discussion, it was agreed that I-AQUAS will conduct an official visit to FDAM Melaka followed by a tour around Jasin for the next research plan.
