I-AQUAS has succeeded in implementing the cultivation of blue swimming crabs, and this initiative began as a pilot project through a collaboration with the Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOF). The primary focus of I-AQUAS in this research is to enhance seed production, especially in response to high demand from various parties, including the industry. This effort also has a positive impact in assisting interested communities, particularly in improving socio-economic conditions in a given area.
These initiatives align with I-AQUAS' efforts to achieve the goals of the four Strategic Plans of UPM 2021-2025, aiming to strengthen the agricultural sector, enhance food security, and emphasize UPM's role as a knowledge hub driving excellence in the field of agriculture.
