FEB: Awareness Camp on the Importance of Marine Ecosystems, Coral and Seaweed at I-AQUAS

3 - 4 February 2024, I-AQUAS - An awareness camp was held over two days and one night at the International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (I-AQUAS). The camp was attended by 50 students from Panglima Adnan National School, Port Dickson, along with 20 accompanying teachers.

The camp aimed to raise awareness about the importance of marine ecosystems, particularly coral and seaweed. Dr Farah Izana Abdullah gave a lecture on microplastics, providing important knowledge about pollution issues affecting marine ecosystems.

Students were given the opportunity to explore marine ecology and coral reefs, gaining firsthand knowledge and experience of life underwater. In addition, they were also taught about safety in water.

Relaxing activities were also held throughout the camp, providing students with the opportunity to interact and learn in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

We hope this camp will provide valuable experiences for the students and help them understand the importance of protecting our marine ecosystems.
