14 Feb 2024 - The International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (I-AQUAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) successfully organized a “Workshop on Riverine Plankton Diversity” located at Hatchery A I-AQUAS. Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hazel Monica Matias Peralta from the College of Fisheries, Central Luzon State University, Philippines was invited to give a lecture to the participants.

Dr. Peralta is known as the most cited scientist at this university. Her research paper titled “Phytoplankton Succession in Intensive Marine Shrimp Culture Ponds Treated with a Commercial Bacterial Product” has recorded the highest number of citations among many studies she has conducted, with 89 citations since 2002. In addition, she has also been honored as the third best scientist in the field of fisheries in the Philippines for the last five years.
