Crablet Endowment

The crablet endowment is one of the efforts carried out by the International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (I-AQUAS), UPM, which aims to increase and maintain the crab population in a designated area. This practice involves the process of releasing crablet into the waters of Port Dickson to ensure effective breeding aimed at supporting the sustainability of crab species and local marine ecosystems. The crablet endowment provides two-way benefits. First, it helps in maintaining the sustainability of the marine ecosystem by increasing the crab population. Second, this activity provides economic benefits to the local community, especially fishermen, through increased crab catches that can become an additional source of income. This initiative is suitable to be implemented as part of a larger marine conservation effort in preserving and ensuring the sustainability of marine resource ecosystems. Visitors and interested parties can get a crab seed package for as low as RM5 (50 crab seeds) to be released into the sea. Hopefully, this effort can be part of the visitors’ contribution to preserving the crab population in the waters of Port Dickson. For reservations and further information, please contact Ms. Intan at 03-9769 8956.
